OUR INTEGRATED MUSICAL THEATRE PROGRAMME
Under the tutelage of award-winning Musical Theatre Performer/Choreographer Seong Hui Xuan & Music Director Joanne Ho, this year-long Musical Theatre training programme will equip you with the essential skills required in Musical Theatre and prepare you to perform on stage in featured and ensemble roles.
Step 1: Acquire specialized skills in Acting, Singing & Dancing
- Learn Basic Acting Techniques

TERM 1 Introduction to Musical Theatre
This term will introduce you to the wonderful world of Musical Theatre and equip you with basic singing and dancing skills as well as music and voice fundamentals that form the foundation of a musical theatre performance.
- A brief history and context of Musical Theatre
- Aural and music skills training
- Basic dance skills rooted in classical ballet and jazz techniques
- Develop stamina, physical coordination and body awareness
End of Term Presentation: A beginner-level Song & Dance number
TERM 2 Song & Dance Skills Training
In this term, you will learn how to create a character as part of a musical theatre ensemble and how to integrate singing, dancing and acting into a musical number. You will also build on the singing and dancing skills learnt in Term 1 and get to apply these techniques learnt in a final song & dance presentation.
- Ensemble work and character creation in an ensemble
- Learn how to practice effectively
- New exercises to further build up stamina and coordination
- Integration of singing, dancing and acting
End of Term Presentation: An intermediate-level Song & Dance number
TERM 3
Skills Integration – Song & Dance Showcase
This final term will culminate into a Graduation Showcase which will include the Song & Dance numbers learnt in previous terms, and integrating your triple threat skills acquired in the previous terms. You will also get a chance to experience a mock audition session and learn audition techniques that will prepare you for future opportunities.
- Develop musicality and performance skills
- Deepen the integration of Acting, Singing and Dancing skills
- Learn techniques to overcome stage fright
- Application of techniques developed over the year, working towards a Graduation Showcase
End of Term Graduation: Song & Dance Showcase
BONUS SESSION
Building a Personal Brand
Bonus Session taught by Derrick Chew, Executive Producer of Sight Lines
- How to package and market yourself as a performer
- How to work with your USP to stand out and differentiate yourself as a unique creative individual
- How to build a following and create regular content on social media
- How to secure funding and sponsorship for your self-produced works

A professional dance studio with dance flooring, mirrors and keyboard.
Training venue will be announced before programme commencement.

- Are able to commit at least 80% of the programme, and all sessions in the final 4 weeks of Term 3
